ReplyDeleteColor is the first thing that catches my eye -- I love all the blue that seems to be showing up in the covers of 2012.
ReplyDeleteStefanie Sloane's covers for her Young Corinthian series are very lovely when put side by side. ^_^
I love looking at your blog/groupings every day, and it was so nice to meet you at RWA. Your stash is way better than the one I got, and I thought mine was amazing!
ReplyDeleteI tend to like cover photos of real folks and not cartoon styled drawings. Hot guys are nice to look at, but a nice picture of a small town is also likely to catch my eye, or an elaborate Regency costume. Several from your groups here today got me especially.
The picture on the front cover is usualloy the first thing that catches my attention. Then I look for the author's name. Then I look at the info on the back cover.
ReplyDeleteMen with mouth watering abs (:>), the color of the whole cover and the title.
ReplyDeleteFor me it's either the man on the cover or the pretty scenery.
ReplyDeleteI like vibrant covers and beautiful dresses. Although I love looking at bear chests, it won't get me to buy a book like a beautiful dress.
ReplyDeleteThe thing that most attracts me to covers are the colors and poses used. The covers seem to have got really eye catching during the past few years. I think that when the cover shows a lovely couple embracing, and she's wearing a stunning dress, then it really makes the book stand out from other books that are on the bookshelf at the store. I stay away from drab colored books.
ReplyDeleteFor me, it's the colour... Also love gorgeous, big gowns... :)
ReplyDeleteI like a beautiful scene like the ones on Emily March's books.
ReplyDeleteThe set up of the cover and then who is one it. Colors that stand out are great as well.
ReplyDeleteI don't pay attention to book covers. I've seen so many that don't have anything to do with the book that I gave up even looking.
ReplyDeleteI like covers that have like a cabin in the woods, or a scene of a river, nature type stuff, and for historicals I love the pretty dresses on the covers.
ReplyDeleteLove all the pics of your stash with the cats :) Color does play a big role - I love the bright colors. I like a variety. Probably my least favorite is the cartoon type. I enjoy the people, the dresses, partial faces or not and raised designs. I like the cut outs but sometimes they get caught in my bookshelves and rip.
ReplyDeleteI don't buy books based on covers
ReplyDeleteI like scenic and silhouetted covers. I think the first things that attracts me is the color.
ReplyDeleteHonestly, I'm not a book cover person. I guess a unique treatment would grab my attention most.
ReplyDeleteI have to say that what catches my attention the fastest is a hot guy, lol. Give me a hot man with great abs/chest/back, etc and I will have to at least look at the book to see if it is something I would enjoy. You add tattoos and I am even more happy :)
ReplyDeleteThe hot guy , them sexy pose with girl , whoo, great books
ReplyDeleteKimh
Colors draw my eye first. I've really been drawn to the covers with the women walking away with their back to you. Queen Hereafter by Susan King has been my favorite.
ReplyDeleteThe bright colors
ReplyDeleteA lot of things can attract my to book covers, such as a shirtless guy or other interesting pictures and colours that match well together.
