We have winners from last week:
- Catslady wins a book choice from the convention stash.
- Miss Kallie wins the autographed books from Hope Ramsay!
Two weeks ago, we toured the North Shore with Jo Anne (right) from Germany. First stop - Tropical Farms' Macadamia Nut Farm Outlet. |
It offers free samples of Kona coffee, macadamia nuts in every flavor, and other Hawaiian products. Outside, we cracked open our own macadamia nuts. |
Watch out! The roosters like the nuts, too! |
This sign reminds me of MASH! |
Mac Nut Farms sits in the shadow of the Koolau Mountains. |
What "island delights" do you like - fresh coconut? macadamia nuts? kona coffee? breathtaking views? One commenter from this week's blogs wins a book choice from my convention stash. This giveaway is open to all readers. Comments are open through Saturday, May 12, 10 pm. I'll post the winner on Sunday, May 13.

I have no clue if I'll ever make it to Hawaii in this lifetime but I have to say Thanks Kim. All your posts and pictures have given me the best History lessons I'll ever have. There is just so much history that I find it so amazing. Thank you.

Kim, How hard is it to crack open a macadamia nut? I heard they were really hard to open.
ReplyDeleteI've never been to Hawaii, but I love all the pictures of everything. the flowers, the ocean, the beach, the plants..I love it all.
I love macadamia nuts but they are very expensive here if you can find them
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners!
ReplyDeleteI love macadamia nuts especially when they are covered in chocolate!
Love love love Kona Coffee!!!!! I don't think I ever had fresh coconut.
ReplyDeleteCongrats to the all the winners.
Definitely, macadamia nuts--unadulterated preferred. But, I also like the flowers--anthurium and orchids growing as weeds in hedges.
ReplyDeleteThanks so much for the win and congrats Miss Kallie.
ReplyDeleteI've never seen a macadamia nut in it's shell but I do enjoy them. I can't think of anything I wouldn't enjoy on the islands - flowers, beaches, the weather, food, Kona coffee, the people...
Hi Kim - Happy sunny Sunday from Rhode Isalnd!
ReplyDeleteI go nuts for nuts and love macadamia nuts but they are so darn expensive I feel guilty whenever I buy them! I try to make myself feel better by reasoning that eating them are good for me and contain no sugar!
PS: They're also perfect for snacking on when your reading a great book!
Kim -
ReplyDeleteHappy sunny Sunday from Rhode Island!
I'm nuts for macadamia nuts! To me there's nothing better to snack on while reading a great book - and they contain no sugar which is a plus.
What better way to spend a lazy Sunday afternoon then sitting outside in the sunshine reading a great book with an entire bowl of macadamia nuts to munch on!
I love macadamia nuts and pineapples. I've had the delicious Kona coffee, too.
ReplyDeleteI like all of the island delights!

ReplyDeleteCongrats to the winners. I am a huge pineapple fan. Not much for coconut or coffee. But I love the smell of coffee beans and brewed coffee.

ReplyDeleteOh, I love all islands delights....coconuts, chocolate macadamia nuts, waterfalls, island sunsets....I could go on and on.
ReplyDeletePineapple and beautiful Hawaiian sunsets! (but not noisy roosters who don't realize that you want to sleep past 5:00 a.m.)
