Tamara, Pamela, and I strolled down the French Quarter in search of beignets. Since Cafe Du Monde had a waiting line, we wondered over to New Orleans' Famous Beignets in the Jax's Brewery building.
We shared the traditional sweet beignets covered in powered sugar ...
... savory beignets with seafood sauce ...
... and a seafood sausage - I didn't expect the powdered sugar!
Would you have tried these treats? One randomly selected commenter from this week's blogs wins a book choice from my convention stash. Comments are open through Saturday, May 31, 10 pm in Baltimore. I'll post the winner on Sunday, June 1, at SOS Aloha.

Definitely, I would try them all. Yummy.
ReplyDeleteI didn't know they had so many varieties, but I would have tried all of them.
ReplyDeleteThe first two look really good - not so sure about the last one lol.
ReplyDeleteYes I do, thanks

I would love to try them, but alas I am gluten free.
ReplyDeleteDefinitely! They look scrumptious ;) Thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteAs a South La native, I have to question why a chef would put confectioner's sugar on a seafood sausage. But, sure, I'd try it. I've already enjoyed the others. Beignets are great made at home, too. One year that's what my grown son requested in lieu of birthday cake. Mmmmm...
ReplyDeletehaven't before
ReplyDeleteI have had the powdered sugar beignets and they are yummy. I would likely try the other two too!
