Last weekend, I flew in/out of the Milwaukee airport for Barbara Vey's Reader Appreciation Luncheon (link, link, and link). I realized upon arrival the airport is named for Milwaukee's own General Mitchell, Army Air Corps.
I peeked into the Mitchell Gallery of flight ...
... and noticed the conference room dedicated to another Milwaukee hero, Air Force Captain Lance Sijan, who posthumously received the Medal of Honor for his courage in Vietnam.
The airport was modern structure with nostalgic touches ...
... including a used book store ...
... where I bought a book about General Mitchell for my father-in-law.
Do you have a favorite airport? One randomly selected commenter from this week's posts wins a book choice from my convention stash. Comments are open through Saturday, May 3, 10 pm in Baltimore. I'll post the winner on Sunday, May 4, at SOS Aloha (link).

I really like the Vancouver B.C. airport, it has so many really neat shops that you don't see elsewhere and there is a totem pole and other aboriginal artifacts.

You always have such interesting pics. It's been so long I can't remember lol.
ReplyDeleteI do not really have a favorite airport but that one sure does look more interesting than ones I have been through.
ReplyDeleteHey gal!!! Loved getting to see you in Milwaukee.
ReplyDeleteI haven't traveled by plane in over 13 years - no favorites. I do know I didn't pass through one as interesting as the Milwaukee Airport.
ReplyDeleteI've only been in a couple of airports and that was a long time ago. I don't have a favorite.
