Aloha to East Oahu - Pounders Beach and Malaekahana Park

We drove along East Oahu to imprint its beauty in our memory ...

... we stopped at Laie Beach, home of "Pounders". 

An offshore sandbar creates the pounding waves ... 

.... that are popular with body surfers.

The beach leads to the Pali Kiloi'a, "fish spotter cliff".  

Next stop - the Malaekahana Park. 

It offers a view looking back at Pounders .... 

 ... and endless beach to the north.  

Offshore is Moku'auia ....

.... that offers a secluded beach!

 The beach offers a glimpse of the past ...

 ... and new life emerging along the shore.
