Aloha to Faces of Hawaii

Last week, I attended an assembly at Hickam Elementary School.  The Oahu chief stands in front of the school.

Given the good weather and small auditorium, the assembly is held outside.

My son won Student of the Quarter for his class.

Parents brought flower lei for their keiki ...

Plus kukui nuts ....

Plus candy lei ....

This cutie wanted to sample the candy lei!

The students take their chairs back to class.

The Student council sponsored snacks for the winners ...

.... these are the faces of Hawaii!

And this is the purse of Hawaii (the Union Jack is part of the state flag).  What's in your purse?  One randomly selected commenter from this week's blogs wins a book choice from my convention stash.  This giveaway is open to all readers.  Comments are open through Saturday, February 9, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, February 10.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

  2. Among many other things, a post-it pad my sister sent me from Hawaii as she knows I adore the sea turtles (from afar).

Congratulations to your son on winning Student of the Quarter. You must be so proud of him. I love how the school actually held a ceremony to acknowledge this.

Wow, that Union Jack handbag is amazing. Where did you get it from?

  4. Love the faces of Hawaii photos! And congrats to your son. That is awesome. As for my purse, I usually keep it pretty simple: wallet, phone, pen, small notebook.

  11. Beautiful faces of Hawaii!! Congratulations to your son on his award, too.
My purse has too much, but includes pepper spray, tissues, a cloth bag (so I'm always read for shopping!) and a pocket calendar w/pen. And a host of other things I feel I must carry and rarely use. :O)
