Aloha to Kauai - Hanalei Bay!

Winnie is the winner from last week's blogs!  During Labor Day Weekend, my family visited Kauai.  Hanalei Bay is the jewel of Kauai's North Shore.   Above is a view from an overlook just as the road descends into the valley.

Below is a view of the family friendly beach ...

... notice the cottages overlooking the bay.

The cottages are featured in George Clooney's THE DESCENDANTS.

No doubt George sailed ...

... fished ...

... and paddle boarded!

Do you like any water sports?  One randomly selected commenter from this week's blogs wins a book choice from my convention stash.  This giveaway is open to all readers.  Comments are open through Saturday, September 15, 10 pm in Hawaii.   I'll post the winner on Sunday, September 16.

Mahalo,

  2. When I was younger I loved to snorkle. I also did a bit of scuba diving. It didn't seem right to live in South Florida and not be able to see the beautiful coral reefs and marine life out there.

  5. Swimming, diving and synchronized swimming. The problem is, I don't do any of them, I just like watching them on t.v.

  9. Yay, thanks Kim! :)

As for water sports, I like to do dragon boat paddling! Would also love to try paddle boarding sometime as it looks very interesting.

  10. We don't live near the water so I never really learned - I can't even tread water (sigh).

  11. Not into water sports. My friend with the pool where we've been doing water aerobics is moving, so I won't even be doing that anymore.

  12. I don't really know how to swim! I can float a little and that's it. So no water sports for me.

I never learned how to swim and so I don't do water sports.
