My picture of Honolulu from Round Top Drive. |
On Wednesday, I lead the Boy Scouts as we ventured along Honolulu's Historic Trail. I left Jane home on purpose ... and my camera by accident. So I offer you photos from another Scout outing - camping at Kualoa Regional Park. The park hosts a famous icon - Chinaman's Hat.
A Scout dad with a good camera took this picture at sunrise. |
Here are the scouts landing on Chiman's Hat. Across the water is the Koolau Mountains. |
The scouts cook everything in these kettles. |

I was a Girl Scout leader for years. We had so much fun cooking and hiking.
ReplyDeleteI went camping once and never again.
ReplyDeleteI've never gone camping or kayaking. I'm one of those "people" who like their home comforts. Plus, I'm a huge scaredy cat of bugs or wild animals. As to kayaking, I'm afraid of being tossed out into the water, as I'm not a very strong swimmer.
ReplyDeleteLove hiking and kayaking, but cooking not so much. :) It's been a while since I've tent camped. Lately we'v been more prone to camping in yurts or small camping cabins.
ReplyDeleteNope... definitely not nature girl. I like looking at pictures of scenary... but get very allergic to bug bites....
ReplyDeleteI used to go camping when I was younger. Not so much these days. My idea of camping now a days is a nice rented log cabin with running water, indoor plumbing and fully furnished. Out by a lake where we can go fishing, hiking and roast marshmallows over a fire....lol
ReplyDeleteIt's not something my family ever did but I had a blast when my daughters were girl scouts. For 3 yrs. I was an assistant leader but then I went as just a mom too.
ReplyDeleteI've never been camping and would love to try it. I do enjoy cooking.
ReplyDeleteI don't care for any of those things! I like my comforts too much! However, I do cook at home.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics, thank you for sharing, Kim! And the last one looks delicious :) I love camping! The best time we had was a couple of years ago when we stayed on an island in the middle of the lake.
ReplyDeleteI don't like camping.
ReplyDeleteBeautiful pics. I loved camping when I was younger but can't do that any more. lol Some fun times.

hiking and camping sounds great :)
ReplyDeleteNever went camping or hiking except when I was an assistant GS leader. It seems the mosquitoes LOVE me. Too many insects for me. :) That first picture of the sunrise is absolutely breathtaking.
