Aloha! I arrived in Milwaukee on Saturday morning for Barbara Vey's Reader Appreciation Luncheon (link). Above are the three "coffee" stooges who greeted me at the airport.
The luncheon featured 60 authors with 7 readers at their tables - 480 booklovers celebrating romance! Tracey Devlyn (link), second from left, transported her readers to Merry Ole England.
Angie Fox (link), holding book, celebrated MY BIG FAT DEMON SLAYER WEDDING with her fans.
Elizabeth Hoyt (link) played peek-a-boo.
Deeanne Gist (link), second from left, is cute as a button with her fans.
Two "princesses" from the royal table of Susan Elizabeth Phillips (link).
Have you visited (or traveled through) Milwaukee? One randomly selected commenter from this week's blogs wins a book choice from my convention stash ... which has been boosted by the luncheon goody bags. Comments are open through Saturday, May 3, 10 pm in Baltimore. I'll post the winner on Sunday, May 4, at SOS Aloha (link).

Coming tomorrow ... my table with Eileen Dreyer!
What a neat conference! I have never been to or through Milwaukee but every time I think of Milwaukee, I think of the TV show Laverne and Shirley! Thanks for the giveaway!

Oh, loved all the pics - looked like so much fun. Nope, have never been.
ReplyDeleteI love bento boxes, too. Never been to Milwaukee.
ReplyDeleteOMG!!! Can I steal the picture of Tracey Devlyn's table? I so don't remember having my picture taken at that Moment!! (>_<)
ReplyDeleteUnfortunately I was unable to attend the luncheon, but I had lived in Milwaukee for 6 years. The cultural diversity in this city alone is astounding! And the architecture is something to be seen! One should attend a Brewers baseball game, tour the Miller and Sprecher Breweries, and check out the Domes. With many malls located throughout, you can go shopping no matter where you are staying! Unfortunately, you won't find Laverne and Shirley ;)
ReplyDeleteI can't wait to see what you all got in your goody bag!
I do not think I have ever been to Milwaukee. This looks amazing. Wish I could have gone.
ReplyDeleteSound like everyone enjoyed themselves! It's always nice to get a goodie bad especially when it's filled with books! No, I've never been to Milwaukee.
ReplyDeleteI would have been at your table, Kim. If only my surgery hadn't been delayed. :(
ReplyDeleteHi Kim, thanks for stopping by the blog. Fun pix and it was a fun event! (No, I don't need to win as I have plenty to read!! ha!) GIRL Z: My Life as a Teenage Zombie
ReplyDeleteNo, I haven't. Looks fun
ReplyDeleteNo - I've never been to Milwaukee, but this looks like a wonderful reason to visit!
ReplyDeleteI live near Milwaukee and spend a lot of time there. Besides the things mentioned by Amy K., there is the Harley-Davidson Museum and for anyone who's a music lover, Summerfest is a great time to visit Milwaukee. http://www.summerfest.com/ I was happy to have been able to attend Barbara's Reader's Luncheon for the second time. I, too, received all the goodies, but I was not lucky enough to win a gift basket. Maybe next year.
ReplyDeletePS...no LaVerne and Shirley, but there is a bronze Fonz!
DeleteKim, thanks for the lovely post! So great seeing you again.
ReplyDeleteThese are just fabulous. I really love attending such events. At the local NYC venues I would also be attending a fun bridal luncheon. You know it will be organized in funky Mickey Mouse style so I am so eager to be there.
