Aloha to the New Jersey Romance Writers (NJRW) Conference (part 1)

This past weekend, I drove with Cathy Maxwell to the New Jersey Romance Writers (NJRW) Put Your Heart In A Book Conference (link).  The theme was DREAM BIG - WRITE NOW.  Cathy and I arrived just in time for the cocktail reception to celebrate the writing contest finalists.  Above is Diana Cosby, Cathy, and Diane Gaston.

Kimberly Rocha from BOOK OBSESSED CHICKS (link) joined our group.  After chatting with Kimberly, I realized that we both attended Lora Leigh's RAW - she's in the picture of line dancing at this link.

C.H. Admirand and Sara Humphreys chatted about their publisher, Sourcebooks.

The West Coast was represented by Margaret Mallory (Washington) and Jane Porter (California).

Cathy and I dined at the Kona Grill in memory of Hawaii. After eating healthy entrees, we splurged on a decadent dessert - butter cake with vanilla ice cream.   There are no calories at conferences, right?

I am giving away two conference bags filled with fun swag plus:

Diana Cosby's HIS CAPTIVE
Diana Cosby's HIS WOMAN

Margaret Mallory's KNIGHT OF DESIRE
Eloisa James' KISS ME ANNABEL
Anthology, THE LADY MOST LIKELY, with Julia Quinn, Eloisa James, and Connie Brockway

  3. Let's see--anything decadently chocolate would be my favorite dessert, preferably if it's adorned with one (or more) of the following: raspberries/raspberry syrup, toasted pecans, caramel, and whipped cream. Mmmmm...Sounds like you had a great time, Kim.

  5. My favorite is creme brule'. It's perfection when one tap of your spoon breaks through to luscious custard.

Love the NJRWA conference. They really do a bang up job!

  6. Hi Kim!

It sounds like you had a wonderful time at NJRW and at least time the trip was a short one from Baltimore to New Jersey!

Since I'm a Type I diabetic I can't eat dessert myself but my family loves when I bake them a cherry covered cheesecake! It's a "secret family receipe from a friend and I can tell you that one of those ingredients is to use crushed Zieback instead of graham crackers to line the bottom and sides of the pan! Sorry I can't tell you the rest but let me know when your in the area and I'll bake one just for you!

  7. Thanks for posting such great pics. My favorite dessert is my fresh cream strawberry trifle that I always make for special occasions. It's always a hit with everybody, and disappears really quickly.
