Scenes from Maui

My in-laws hopped over to Maui for a few days .... above is the sugar crop that grows on the land bridge between the two volcanoes.    A rainbow welcomed them to the Valley Isle!

They stayed near Kihei on the southwest side of the island.

Sunset over the Pacific!

Mother in law ventured out on a whale watching cruise ... she spotted several humpback whales!    Have you been on a whale watching cruise?   I am giving away a book choice from my convention stash to one randomly selected commenter from this week's blogs.   Comments are open through Saturday, December 22, 10 pm in Hawaii.  I'll post the winner on Sunday, December 23, on SOS Aloha.

Mahalo,

Kim in Hawaii

A rainbow waves them goodbye ....

  1. Nope I haven't. I've only seen dolphins playing on the sea while we we're on our way to our province.

  4. I have never seen the whales. I have seen many dolphins though. One of the short cruises that my sisters and I took off of the west coast of Florida was for the sole purpose of spotting the dolphins. They 'meet' the boat and then 'run' along side for about 10 or 15 minutes. They are playful, darting in and out of the water and jumping over each other. It was a fun cruise.

Merry Christmas to you and yours and a Happy New Year!!
