Aloha to San Diego: USS Midway (part 5) - The Flight Deck

Let's explore the flight deck.  Above is a mannequin representing the catapult crew member, perhaps one of the most dangerous jobs in the Navy.

The USS Midway offers a variety of aircraft on display.

Folding wings saves space!

Looking down at the hanger deck,

the elevator brings aircraft up to the flight deck.  It is now a cafe.

The USS Midway offers a view of the larger than life Kissing Couple ...

Gotta love the S-3 Viking,

an Anti Submarine Warfare (ASW) aircraft,  

with the luck of the Irish!

The crow's next towers over the flight deck ... 

.... with Old Glory flying proudly!

The flight deck crew face a variety of danger ... 

... including being blown off the carrier.  The fence like mechanism offers a safety catch.

The view from the end of the flight deck is illuminating ...

... to watch the Coronado ferries sail by the USS Midway.

 It's up in the air or into the water.

Aloha to Safety Harbor - The Pier, Marina, and Library

Continuing my walk around my home town of Safety Harbor, the pier is a symbol of our city.

The seagull rests on the channel marker, reminding boaters to watch out for manatees. 

The bay offers a small beach better suited for rock collecting than sun bathing.

Yes, let's go to Safety Harbor after this week of snow ... 

... I would be on Cloud 9!

Safety Harbor also boasts a world class library with helpful libraries ...  

... here's the fine print.  Indeed, the Librarians are Human Search Engines!
