Aloha to the Big Apple - Times Square and the Empire State Building

One of my college friends called me last week with an offer I could not refuse - a midweek trip to NYC to catch a Broadway show!   We arrived late Tuesday afternoon ...

... and headed to Times Square for the bright lights!

We walked over to the Empire State Building.   Although the observation platform was mobbed with school tours, I squeezed through them to take  pictures.   Above is a view to the south where the Twin Towers once stood ...

... to the Northwest for a peek at Times Square ....

... and to the Northeast, featuring the Chrysler Building.

We walked back to Times Square up 5th Avenue, passing by the New York Public Library.

Have you visited NYC?

  1. NYC is my hometown. Did you catch a glimpse of the Freedom Tower?

  2. I went a couple of years ago to see The Lion King with a friend and one of my daughters. We spent 2 nights and got in as much sight seeing as we could. We took one of those double decker bus tours and I did a lot of walking lol. Loved it.

  3. I have been many times and ususally enjoy my visits.

  4. Yup and I love it. :) So much energy!

  5. I was a young girl the last time I was in NYC - and we just aren't going to talk about how many years ago that was! Great pictures, Kim.

  6. aw, I would've loved to have met you....I'm in Queens, so getting to Manhattan is no biggie for me!!!!

  7. How fun to go on a NYC spur of the moment trip. I've been there once....when I was 14 and on one of those school tours. I'd love to go back.

  8. Yes, I've been to NYC....but only at the airport.

  9. I 'm the same as Danielle. I've been to New York several times, but only at the airport. LOL............Lovely pics Kim, thank you for sharing them with us.

  10. Beautiful pics, Kim!
I have visited several times, but only once to sight see when I was a kid.
Someday I want to take my hubby. He has never been.
